Shirley Trevena is a successful watercolour artist, internationally renowned for her paintings of still life, flowers and landscape imagery. She is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours and has won several watercolour awards – the Winsor & Newton Award and the Llewellyn Prize. Shirley regularly runs painting workshops and exhibits her work annually at the Mall Galleries, London, and The Orange Steet Gallery, Rutland.

Mit diesem Buch kann man als Aquarellist seine Freude haben.Es sind viele Anleitungen und Anregungen enthalten und diegezeigten Bilder können den Leser begeistern.Ich kann dieses Buch nur weiter empfehlen.Es ist allerdings für Anfänger nicht geeignet.
Das Buch ist sehr leicht zu lesen, die Erklärungen verständlich und die einzelnen Schritte sehr gut visualisiert. Anhand eines Bildes (dessen Entstehung man durch unzählige Bilder nachvollziehen kann) erklärt die Künstlerin unterschiedliche Techniken, sowie ihre Gedanken zur Komposition.Auch als Anfänger kann man eine Menge aus dem Buch mitnehmen.
